We have the honor this week of spotlighting Beyond Details Catering business! Brandy owns Beyond Details with her husband John, the Executive Chef. They live in Franklin with their two boys Ethan and Brecken and two dogs Wiggles and Buddy. Brandy’s passion for her business and clients is evident from her successful and booming business and passionate answers to the questions we provided! Check out the questions below to learn a little bit more about Brandy and her business to see how they could fit into any and every type of event.
What was your dream job growing up?
I wanted to be an attorney. I thought they were all bright business women who knew exactly what was going on. I was interested in government and I thought that was the starting point.
What does a typical wedding day look like for you?
Typically, I start with a double check of the table designs at my office then head to the event. I usually arrive about 2 hours before the ceremony to set up. Then of course set up, service for cocktail hour, dinner, desserts and finishing the night off ensuring that we left the venue in the same condition as when we arrived.
How did you get into the catering business?
We own venues and a catering business in Atlanta. Our business partners that trained horses in Nashville were visiting the Nashville area in 2011 and were eating at Taco Mamacita. At the time Edgehill Village was a mecca of wedding businesses. Dulce, Olia, StudioWed and a jeweler were all in one area. We thought, hey this would be a great place for a catering office and so here we are.
How long have you been in business?
Our original offices opened in Atlanta in 2006 and our Nashville office in 2011.
What is your favorite part of a wedding day/event day?
Late night snacks. Everyone acts like they hit the lottery when late night snacks arrives.
What is your favorite dish that Beyond Details prepares?
My favorite food item is the hot chicken + waffles and I love our kale salad. I know a combination of terrible for you and good. Everyone loves some good fried chicken, but the lemon vinaigrette dressing on the salad is so very yummy.
What is your favorite dish to prepare at home?
I am not the chef of the house, John is our chef at Beyond Details and at our home. I am starting to find a new love in curry. I am a particularly boring eater so curry is me going out on a limb!
What would be your dream event to cater?
Im really not a star struck girl or looking for a big huge event that defines you. I love meeting regular clients that I build relationships with. My favorite part of owning a business is the actual business component and relationships. So honestly, I am catering my dream events. Brides and Corporate clients that are kind, friendly, fun and have great taste in food!
Who would be your dream celebrity to cater for?
We catered Thomas Rhett’s wedding and he was a dream. I love Chris Stapleton, so perhaps we can get one of his events soon. Anyone got the contact? Haha.
If you could go anywhere tomorrow, where would you go?
I’m interested in Phuket, Thailand, it looks so amazingly beautiful there and I can try their curry. I am working on a trip there next summer!
