This week we caught up with one of our 2015 couples, Macy and Blake! We loved hearing about everything they’ve been up to since their wedding.
Q: What was your wedding date and location? How long have you been married?
Wedding date; May 23, 2015. Going on 6 years! Married at the Music City Center in Nashville.
Q: What planning package did you book with Vision in White?
Yikes I can’t remember. Maybe the week?
(She’s right. Back when we were silly enough to think this was a good offering.)
Q: What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?
My favorite part of planning the wedding was just day dreaming and envisioning how it would all come together. We got married in a large ball room— so we had to do a lot to make it look like we wanted it to. I loved picking out the big beautiful flower arrangements and our food tasting with Chef Max at the music city center.
Q: What did you stress about during planning that you wish you hadn’t?
I feel like I was a pretty low stress bride and I didn’t worry too much about the wedding details. The team at Vision in White coupled with the event planning staff at the Music City Center made our day pretty stress free.
Q: What do you remember most about your wedding day?
What I remember the most about our weeding day was how many people surrounded us with so much love. We had a large wedding with 375 of our closest family members and friends 😉.
Q: What would you have changed about your wedding planning or wedding day?
One thing I would change is not ordering a 5 tier wedding cake. Though it was so good and beautiful, I was very stressed about the logistics of transporting such a large cake from Hermitage to downtown. Is it weird that that’s what I was stressed and worried about?
Q: What are some exciting life updates since you got married?
Since we got married 5 years ago, I passed the bar exam and became an attorney in Nashville. My husband, Blake, still works for Cigna. This July we welcomed our first son, Jackson, into the world.
Q: What advice would you give couples that are currently planning their wedding?
Couples currently planning their wedding should enjoy every step of the process. It can be pretty stressful, but it’s important to remember that at the end of the day you are just planning a party to celebrate your love for your partner. I would also encourage you to get as much professional help as you can afford. It takes a whole lot of the stress out of the process.
Thank you to Macy and Blake for taking the time to catch up with us. Baby Jackson is precious and we can’t wait to see what’s next for you 2!
