We love featuring amazing local vendors each month and learning about the people behind the business. This time we are sharing Jenny and Courtney from Flower Girls Floral Design!
What was your dream job growing up?
Jenny pictured herself dancing through life as a professional dancer and Courtney always pictured a quiet life as a mom. With 5 boys between us, we’ve quickly figured out there’s lots of dancing, but it’s most definitely not quiet!
What does a typical wedding day look like for you/the whole team?
Coffee First!!! Then we put the finishing touches on our wedding party florals and make sure everything is looking up to wedding day perfection. Next we go through our checklist to be sure everything is ready and loaded in our vehicle and head to the venue. We start on our large installations first and then put out the table designs and anything else that needs to be completed. We make sure that the planner in charge or the mother of the bride gets a look to make sure that everything is exactly the way the bride envisioned it to be.
How did you get into the business?
Jenny had been in the wedding industry for nearly a decade and decided that she wanted to move direction more toward the floral side of things. Courtney’s background in agriculture was the perfect fit and all fell into place from there.
How long have you been in business?
2 years
What is your favorite part of a wedding day/event day?
We absolutely love seeing our brides when we give them their bouquet. We always say there is something so perfect and sweet about a bride and her flowers. It’s our absolute favorite!
What is your favorite type of arrangement to create?
Other than the bridal bouquet, we love to do large installations like arbors. We love the challenge of making the bride’s ideas and our vision come to life on the wedding day.
What would be your dream event to design for?
We’d love to have a destination wedding to design in the hills of the Amalfi Cost overlooking the Mediterranean Sea!!
What celebrity would you most like to be hired by to create flower arrangements?
Justin Timberlake, of course! Just kidding (not really)-we both love to cook and are big fans of the Barefoot Contessa! Maybe she’ll ask us up to the Hamptons to design a dinner party for her!
If you could go anywhere tomorrow, where would you go?
Anywhere for an adults only weekend and wine!!
These ladies do amazing work and we can’t wait to work with them in the future! Thanks for partaking in our Vendor Spotlight ladies!
