One of our favorite things to do here at Vision in White Events is to work alongside with talented vendors. They are a constant source of inspiration and also are a huge help when it comes to making our wedding days go smoothly. Our Vendor Spotlight posts are a great way to get to know more about these vendors and what they do. For this weeks Vendor Spotlight we got the opportunity to speak to amazing wedding photographer, Courtney Davidson, of Courtney Davidson Photography. Scroll down to find out more about Courtney and her passion for photography!

What was your dream job growing up?
I wanted to be a fighter pilot.
What does a typical wedding day look like for you?
Long. I am not sure people realize what goes into a wedding day beyond just the hours you are contracted— My day starts the night before checking gear, making sure batteries are charged etc, and ends usually around 2am after double backing up images, making sure one set is in a fireproof waterproof safe, and the other set is in a different location. I love what I do so I run on pure adrenaline during the wedding and that makes it hard to sleep after a wedding, even when I am so tired!
How long have you been in business? Why did you decide to start a business?
11 years full time. I started in NYC after finishing my Masters in Photography. Honestly I just sort of fell into it. I mentored with a photographer in NYC for a year, and we shot 47 weddings together in 2008. He gave me so many referrals the next year it just sort of naturally happened.
What is your favorite part of a wedding day/event day?
First Dance. By then a lot of the formal stuff is over, and the couple just gets to spend that moment together. It’s so fun to photograph, and I always tear up a bit behind the lens. 😉
What would be your dream event to photograph?
I once had a wedding nightmare (like an actual bad dream, which often occurs in the stress of wedding season) where I was in like Japan or something photographing the most beautiful wedding in the height of Cherry Blossom season (I mean it was spectacular), and I looked down and all my batteries had lost their charge and I had no memory cards. I woke up in a cold sweat. So I guess given that dream my answer would be a wedding in a sea of Cherry Blossoms.
