We’re so lucky in Nashville to work with some of the most incredible vendors on the planet! Ok, so we’re a little biased, but this week, our vendor spotlight features a conversation with the ladies from the incredible Corwin Trio! Read through to find out how these ladies became the amazing musicians and sought after ceremony performers they are today!
What was your dream job growing up?
From the time I was 12 I knew that I wanted to be a violinist, and am thankful every day to live out that dream! – Veronica
What does a typical wedding day look like for you?
Our typical wedding day involves organizing the music, warming up and double checking all the wedding details. When we arrive at the venue we go over wedding details again together, tune our instruments, and discuss any important points with the wedding coordinator. And then we just do what we love most: Play music for our awesome clients!
How did you get into the music business?
Well, we all have a love for music and all decided to pursue music degrees. In addition to our undergrad degrees we all 3 have Masters in Music Performance (on cello or violin). Having this background really opens the door to lots of music opportunities.
How long have you been in business? Why did you decide to start the trio?
We’ve officially been The Corwin Trio since 2013. We started out just as friends playing weddings together. We just loved playing together and also realized there is a need for wedding musicians, so we decided to make it formal and become the Corwin Trio.
What is your favorite part of a wedding day/event day?
The best part is when the bride has walked down the aisle and the ceremony begins. At that point, we’ve played all pre-ceremony music and gotten everyone (mother’s, bridesmaids, groomsmen, etc) in at the right time. It’s such a wonderful feeling when all the cues and timing work out perfectly. That’s a job well done!
Who would be your dream celebrity to play for?
All of our clients are celebrities to us 🙂 But we have had the opportunity to play for some country music artists here in Nashville and that has been super fun!
If you could go anywhere tomorrow, where would you go?
Well since I’m freezing in Nashville right now, I’d gladly take a hot, sunny beach. Bora Bora island, Tahiti (never been but would LOVE to go!) – Melissa
What is the most requested wedding song right now?
One of our most requested songs right now is “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne.
