Carla and Mark had their beautiful wedding on October 25, 2015 and we are so excited to recap their wedding for you. The rustic and woodsy feel of Hachland Hill in Joelton, TN was the perfect venue for them! With Carla being a designer, you can expect some awesome and unique decor for this one.
Their invitations were custom designed by Simply Jessica Marie with a drawn photo of the couple one one side and a map of the property for the wedding on the other side. Carla and Mark reenacted the pose of them on the cover on their wedding day too.
The day started out with Carla and Mark getting ready SpringCreek Inn, which is a house on site. Behind the house is a bridge above the creek that takes you to the Tobacco Barn, which is 100 years old.
Photographer, Zipporah is so talented and snapped these stunning pictures just before getting the ceremony started.
Originally, the ceremony was planned to be outdoors, but the rain came and didn’t allow for that. We made some quick changes and moved it inside the Tobacco Barn for a standing ceremony and it was beautiful! We were still able to get some photos of the couple in front of the outdoor ceremony location so they were happy with that.
The rain gave Zipporah the perfect opportunity to capture these gorgeous umbrella pictures!
Right behind the barn is a covered walkway which is where the bar was. The walkway led to a tented area for the reception with different assortments of centerpieces all designed and made by Carla. There were small decor items all over the barn and reception area including the “Welcome to Camp Poiesz” sign, succulents and other signs.
Since Mark is a drummer, they decided on a personalized route and used a drum with eucalyptus surrounding it for their card box. For their guestbook, they had friends and family write bucket list travel suggestions on tags and had them hanging around silver wine bottles. The couple promised to complete the bucket list in their lifetime.
The reception decor was a mix of silver and gold and it was so pretty. Carla spent months finding each of these unique centerpieces! Each object had a succulent in it along with vases with other flowers while the other tables had candles.
The buffet-style BBQ dinner courtesy of Hachland Hill was delicious! Toasts were done just before the first dance. Carla and Mark shared their first dance as a married couple to “Faithfully” sang beautifully by Maid of Honor, Janina and friend Fernando. Carla and Mark then shared special dances with their parents before opening up the dance floor to friends and family.
The Cupcake Collection did a wonderful job with these assorted cakes and they were quite tasty! Carla switched into her more relaxed wedding day outfit of white pants and a corset that was part of her prom dress.
After the reception, family and friends moved on to the campfire area where they sat around talking and singing as a group. It was such a fun experience to be part of.
Carla and Mark, it was an absolute pleasure working with the both of you! Congrats and we wish you both a lifetime of happiness (and I’ll see you soon for wine night)!
