Maura and Matt’s love story began when they met while on vacation in Nashville, TN. They soon fell in love with each other and the city. Upon a second trip to Nashville, Matt proposed to Maura at Carnton Plantation in Franklin, TN. They chose this gorgeous plantation as the location for their destination wedding.All the programs, invitations, menu’s, and table numbers were handmade by Maura, who is a professional calligraphy artist. She also hand dyed each guests dinner napkins, giving them all a unique personal touch.
Before the ceremony, Matt’s groomsmen joined him for photos, showcasing their sleek matching navy blue suits.
Maura’s bridesmaid each wore a different cut of a floor length beige dress. Her seven bridesmaids were accompanied by the three flower-women who each wore a vibrant blue dress.
In lieu of a first-look, Maura & Matt wrote one another handwritten letters to share on their wedding day.
To everyone’s relief, the summer rain stopped just in time for the ceremony to begin in the plantations garden.
Once cocktail hour began, Maura & Matt took their first photos as Mr. & Mrs. Day.
The expansive garden and historic plantation, created a timeless southern wedding scenery.
Each table was decorated in the timeless work of The Flwr Shop, with colorful flowers and fruit.
After the grand entrance of the wedding party, dinner was served. The guests enjoyed three dinner stations, each with a different dish, including a taco station, a southern station, and a Chinese station. Following dinner, an delicious ice cream bar was opened to all guests.
To remember the most of their destination wedding, Maura & Matt used the Carnton Plantation photo album as their guestbook.
To kick off the dancing, Mr. & Mrs. Day shared a dance with their parents and each other. The party continued without a hitch despite the heavy rain outside the tent.
The party shared laughs during the bouquet and garter toss.
To finish off their lively wedding, Maura & Matt enjoyed their honeymoon in Cambodia and Thailand! We had such a terrific time being a part of Maura & Matt’s destination wedding and wish them all the best.
