This week’s wedding recap will give you all the warm and fuzzies of a winter wonderland wedding complete with Christmas trees, cute kiddos, and dog cakes. Still with me? Then you’ll want to keep scrolling and to find out how we put together the winter wedding day of Donnie and Evy.
Evy and Donnie prepped for the biggest day of their lives surrounded by love, support, and a zillion of their closest friends. And as we all know, you can’t get ready to walk down the aisle without a little liquid courage.
Evy and her bridesmaids spent the day getting ready at an AirBnB rental. Her best gals wore evergreen robes to compliment the winter theme of the day!
After a day of hair and makeup with Hunter Paige at Parlour 3, it was finally time to slip into the most important dress of her life. Evy’s dress featured illusion sleeves and neckline and a long train. She was the picture of classic elegance!
We love a bride brave enough to wear flats! Guaranteed comfort AND style!
We all know, we can’t do it without our moms! Evy’s mom was there for all the final touches and big moments.
A quick first look with the girls before it was time to see her groom!
This bouquet by Fresh Weddings by CarryAnn was a stunner!
Not to be outdone, Donnie kept it sleek and stylish in a simple black suit and tie.
Before Evy was ready to say “I do” to the man of her dreams, she stopped to share a special moment with the first most important man in her life . . . her daddy. Get out your tissues, these two are precious!
You may not be able to tell from looking at him, but Donnie was one of our favorite type of grooms, an emotional groom! He was a bundle of nerves waiting for his bride-to-be.
All the nerves faded away as soon as these two were together!
The December chill held out long enough for outdoor photos of the excited bride and groom.
A black and white photo is truly the way to our hearts!
The Scarritt Bennett campus offers amazing architectural spaces perfect for stunning wedding photos like these.
A word of marriage advice: marry the one who makes you laugh every day. Judging by our time spent with these two . . . they’re going to be JUST fine!
Vendor tip: get you a photographer who has mastered the epic veil shot. Justin Wright is the master!!
Wedding Party Photos
Evy’s bridesmaids wore floor-length champagne gowns in matching styles.
Donnie and his groomsmen wore matching black suits and ties.
The fun level goes from 0-100 when you add 19 members of the wedding party to the mix!
Lucky for us, Scarritt Bennett was ready for Christmas as well and flanked the altar with Christmas trees.
Evy and Donnie’s guestbook was a copy of The Night Before Christmas. Such a sweet touch to incorporate their theme!
Before her walk down the aisle, Evy was supported by her bridesmaids with a quick prayer.
Is there anything cuter than a flower girl and ring bearer really psyched about their job?!
We mentioned it before, but Donnie is an emotional guy and that was never more clear than when his bride came down the aisle! We’re so glad this was captured on film (and video)!
Here she comes!
We’re pleased to introduce Mr. and Mrs. Hudson!
I’ve never seen bigger smiles!!!
Guests were greeted at the Musician’s Hall of Fame by tables of white blooms and silver and champagne accents.
A floating window pane at the entrance acted as a seating chart!
The wedding cake was beautiful and simple, but nothing could compare to the groom’s cake designed to look exactly like their dog, Ulysses!
A grand entrance for the newlyweds kicked off the party!
Their first dance as husband and wife!
Don’t skip those extra special moments with mom and dad! They’ll enjoy them more than you think.
While guests enjoyed dinner and drinks, the couple snuck out for a few more photos. Hold onto your hats, these are incredible!
Evy and Donnie cut the cake and toasted to the amazing life ahead!
The newlyweds were showered with fresh snow and sent off to enjoy a romantic honeymoon!
Congratulations to Evy and Donnie! Working with you two was an absolute dream for a planner. We loved seeing it all come together and wish you nothing but the absolute best in all the years to come!
