Today, our wedding recap is focused on Leah and Steven’s wedding on September 3, 2017. It was a beautiful day full of life, love, and friendship. It was truly a day to remember.
Getting Ready
Leah and her bridesmaids got started on hair and makeup (with the help of One10 Beauty) bright and early on Sunday morning, while the groomsmen were not even asked to arrive yet (lucky them!). Around late afternoon, the groom and groomsmen arrived at Cheekwood dressed and ready to begin photos. Everyone looked amazing once all of the finishing touches were through.
First Look
After everyone was finished getting ready, the bride and groom headed to do their first look. It was such a beautiful moment as she walked up behind him and gently tapped his shoulder. He turned around and opened his eyes, and with his first look at her, he smiled and laughed in complete wonder of his beautiful bride. We are so glad that Gavin Nutt Photography was really able to capture this sweet moment so well.
After that, it was off to take some photos together on the beautiful grounds of Cheekwood.
Wedding Party
The bridesmaids were stunning in their long, navy dresses. The groomsmen were also handsome in their gray tuxes with navy ties that really complemented the girls’ dresses. The colors and the beautiful boutonnieres and bouquets really welcomed the fall season well. They all looked fantastic lined up side by side.
The garden roses, ranunculus and dahlias in the bouquets are always a perfect combination. The mix of greenery created a beautiful look for these girls.
Ceremony Details
Once the bride and groom had their first look, the photographer went to capture the beauty of the ceremony details. The entry of the ceremony had a basket of programs and next to it and some Yarmulkes for the men to take for the ceremony. The wooden arch was beautiful with greenery and flowers (beautifully done by Crowell Floral) covering the left corner. Underneath the arch was the Ketubah that the couple and rabbi all signed.
Ceremony
This was such a beautiful ceremony filled with many Jewish traditions. Once Leah had walked down the aisle to meet Steven, they circled each other three times and lead into the ceremony. Their parents both wrapped the couple in a Tallit to symbolize that they will never separate. Once that was finished, they each took glass wrapped in a cloth and set it on the ground and stepped on it until it was broken into tiny pieces, a very big Jewish tradition. They also had several readings by the wedding party and parents on both sides. Then finally, the groom kissed his bride, and they exited down the aisle as husband and wife!
Reception Details
The reception was beautifully decorated with greenery lining the head table with blue and silver votives. The other tables were decorated with a couple of votives and a lovely floral arrangement in the center. The table numbers each had a picture of the bride and groom as children. The menus were neatly folded into gray napkins and crystal blue glasses at the top right. Also, there were lights stringing across the entire reception that kept the place lit for the entire evening with a romantic glow.
Look at this tasty naked cake with fresh fruits. ‘Tis So Sweet did an amazing job creating this cake exactly as Leah and Steven wanted it.
Reception
Following the ceremony and cocktail hour, guests were welcomed to the other side of the building for the reception. The bride, groom and wedding party entered to the song “All of the Lights” by Kanye West. Following their grand entrance, the couple went straight into their first dance together. Once their dance was over, champagne was poured and toasts were given by the Leah’s father, the Best Man, and the Maid of Honor. Then the band (Emerald Empire Band), began their first set while everyone ate their delicious meals provided by Chefs Market. After everybody’s stomachs were full from dinner, it was time to cut the cake!
Then, the father/daughter, mother/son dances took place, and finally, everyone else made their way to the dance floor for the rest of the evening. The band kept the place packed all night and everyone had a wonderful time.
Thank you to all of the huge help we had from all of our vendors! This day ran so smoothly thanks to all that you did!
