On May 27th, 2017, was the wedding of Rachel and Josh. Today’s recap is going to be focused on their special day! We were so excited to be a part of this beautiful experience with them.
Getting Ready
The couple had a blast getting to prepare for the day with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. It was a great start for their wedding day. After that, the couple shared some letters they wrote to each other to get them even more excited to walk down the aisle.
First Look
When the couple was finished getting ready, they were prepared to see each other. Their first look was simple and cute. Rachel walked up behind him, and when he turned around, he was mesmerized by his bride’s beauty. They continued to take their couple photos around the beautiful church property. We just loved designing the flowers for this sweet couple.
Bridal Party
Rachel and Josh each had seven close friends and family that stood by their side on their wedding day. It was so sweet to see that they had so many genuine friends to support them. The salmon colored dresses paired with the navy suits were perfect for a Spring wedding. In addition, the flowers in the ladies’ bouquets also made for a wonderful touch.
Ceremony Details
Following the couple’s first look, the photographer took a closer look at the ceremony details. The ceremony was at Grace Community Church. The flowers coupled with the programs, made for a lovely venue.
Wedding Ceremony
Then it was time to begin! The flower girl and ring bearer were so adorable as they readied the aisle for the bride. When the bride and her father walked down the aisle, everyone was in awe. The ceremony was absolutely perfect! The bride and groom recessed to “Africa” by Toto which is a personal favorite of mine!
Reception Details
The guests headed to Houston Station for the reception and a chance to talk with the newlyweds. The venue was decorated with a very elegantly rustic feel. Also, the flowers were beautiful in their gold bases. And the table numbers were personalized with photos of the bride and groom at each age. The dinner was a variety of food stations so that every guest could have what they desired (thanks to Wildberry Catering).
Look how beautiful that peony is on the cake!
Wedding Reception
Following the ceremony, the officiant Matt McCullough kicked off the reception with a blessing, and the guests began their dinner. Following dinner, there were toasts, delicious cake (done by Publix), and tons of dancing. To start, it was the first dance. Following that was the father/daughter dance, mother/son dance, and lastly the guests were invited to dance the night away!
Some African wedding traditions were brought in as the guests lifted the bride and groom above them to celebrate.
Grand Exit
Once the reception concluded, the bride and groom prepared for their grand exit. All of the guests were welcomed to grab a sparkler to send off the happy couple!
Thank you for allowing us to join in this very special day! Also, thank you to all of the vendors that helped make this day possible.
