Nashville Wedding Recap
November 5, 2016
John & Susanne
On November 5 of last year John and Susanne came together to get married in the beautiful venue of The Standard at the Smith House. The Smith House is the “only grand townhouse remaining in downtown Nashville”, and it was built in the 1840’s. Having their wedding in this historic setting made for a unique and special wedding!
Getting Ready
Susanne and the bridesmaids spent the morning getting ready at Style Kitchen with the help of Joseph Barnes. After getting all done up at the salon the girls headed to the wedding venue to finish getting ready and to hang out before the big event!
Once Susanne was all dolled up she had a little help closing up the back of her gorgeous dress. She chose a sleeveless, form fitting lace gown with jewel detailing. She paired the gown with a short veil with a beaded edge.
First Look
Once the bridal party was ready it was time for John to see his bride for the first time! Look how excited he is to see his bride!

The Bridal Party
The bridal party came out for pictures with the bride and groom as well. The groomsmen looked dashing in black suits with white calla lily boutonnieres. The bridesmaids looked wonderful in dresses that matched the colors of the bride’s calla lily bouquet, and they carried bouquets of white roses. One of the bridesmaids wore black pants with a black shirt and vest, she also had a white calla lily boutonniere. The bride’s bouquet matched the groom’s burgundy calla lily boutonniere.
The Ceremony
The white aisle, lined with candles and red rose petals, led to the front where lighting magic made a beautiful golden backdrop. The bride and groom stood between two beautiful winding candle holders, where calla lilies and roses also made another appearance.
Everyone looks on as the bride and groom share their first kiss as husband and wife! Then it was time to party!
The Reception
The reception was held at the same venue but looked completely different than the room in which the wedding was held but was just as beautiful.
The centerpeices at the reception were to die for! With sumberged burgundy calla lilies topped with floating candles, and red roses mixed with white hydrangeas. It was truely beautiful.
While waiting for the bride and groom to have their grand entrance the guests enjoyed a meal provided by The Standard Restaurant. After dinner everyone moved to the ballroom for the big introduction of the bride and groom and their first dance. Fittingly, they danced to “Susanne” by Weezer.
After the first dance it was time to cut the cake provided by Dulce Desserts. The couple chose a frosted two tiered cake with burgundy flowers on top. They had cupcakes for the guests as well!
Before the bride and groom took their leave John tossed the garter to “Pet You and Hold You” by Rockpile, and Susanne threw her bouquet to “Penny Lane” by The Beatle. The couple was cheered through a tunnel of sparklers to the waiting Rolls Royce.
What a classic car!
Congratulations to the happy couple! Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!
