Q. What was your dream job growing up?
At one point in my younger days, I hoped to own an organic farm, with a restaurant on location.
Q. What does a typical wedding day look like for you?
I wake up extra early, and check on all the food prep and final packing of the gear. We load vans and execute the event!
Q. How did you get into the catering business?
When I was 23 I considered cooking as a career, and shortly there after considered a catering company as a profitable and feasible market to bring that vision into reality.
Q. How long have you been in business? Why did you decide to start Actual Food?
I have been in the catering business since 2011 here in Nashville. Starting a business was my end goal, I love being my own boss.
Q. What is your favorite part of a wedding day/event day?
The moment I know all the unknowns, and everything is panning out impeccably (which is often ;-)).
Q. What is your favorite dish to prepare for an event?
We love Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors. Freshly cooking ingredients on site is our preference and a tried and true tactic for producing really great food.
Q. What is your favorite dish to prepare at home?
My wife often gives me 15 minute mystery box dinner challenges, 3 weird ingredients and dinner is ready lickety-split!
Q. What would be your dream event to cater?
One of our dreams has come true as we are looking forward to catering this year’s Steeplechase Paddock club, a 700 person tent.
Q. Who would be your dream celebrity to cater for?
We are in such a great town for celebrity clients, and we do appreciate the networking and status those clients bring. Really anyone!
Q. If you could go anywhere tomorrow, where would you go?
Somewhere in the southwest dessert! It’s such a magical place.
